Fruit and Veg

All our fruit and vegetables are local, apart from bananas and citrus fruits that insist on living in sunnier climes. And most are grown within just a few miles of Hitchin – so definitely not tired from the journey!

And, as you’d expect, this is where our insistence on seasonality comes to the fore. There's no pre-packaged produce. Halseys veg and fruit baskets allow you to see where the produce has come from, to pick your choice from the very best of what’s in season and take it home in a compostable brown paper bag.

Finally, we have a barter system for keen allotmenteers who have more produce than they can use. Bring us the best of what you have and we’ll arrange a swap for some of the best of the rest of what Halsey’s has to offer.
